Americans embrace working independently, rather than being a company employee. Those who do it are happy being their own bosses and are committed to the lifestyle, according to a new study conducted by Rockbridge Associates and sponsored by MBO Partners.
Nearly 80% of independent workers are satisfied with their work situation, including 58% who are highly satisfied and 21% who are satisfied. More than half (55%) say it was their proactive choice to become an independent worker. Given these positive attitudes and interest by Americans to become independent, it is expected that the U.S. independent workforce will grow to more than 20 million over the next two years.
